ABOUT HEKATE
Guide, guardian, witch.
Hekate is a 3-headed Greek goddess and worker from afar. Associated with boundaries, transitions, crossroads and magic, Hekate keeps things neat by being the protector of the household. She is often accompanied by dogs and snakes during her journeys to the underworld.
Our ethos.
In an uncertain and ever-changing art landscape, HEKATE is a constant. We work with a small number of artists internationally and consciously select our projects in order to nurture ongoing collaborations that have a lasting impact.
Each project we take on is managed with great care, bringing in the personal expertise of our 3 founders. We provide the tools and know-how so our collaborators can make empowered decisions.
OUR TEAM
Aristea Rellou, Dominic Sylvia Lauren and Vaso Papadopoulou founded HEKATE in London in 2020.
With bases in Athens, London and Milan, we take on projects around the world.

Background/work experience: Before HEKATE, I was a major donor fundraiser at Serpentine Galleries, Camden Art Centre and Tate. I’ve also worked at Sprüth Magers in London, and Gagosian and Phillips in New York City.
What I bring to HEKATE: Career development and special projects. Together, we will hopefully make all your fundraising dreams come true.
Strength: Some call it trauma, I call it diplomacy skills.
When I’m not at HEKATE, you will find me illustrating food and drinks as @monakrive, or reading cosy murder mysteries.
Favourite artist(s) of all time: I enjoy sparse, stripped-down work that’s laden with meaning, so - without a doubt - Félix González-Torres.

Background/work experience: My first full-time job was in the Director’s Office at MoMA - one of the most fulfilling and eye-opening experiences of my life. I then focused on the commercial side of the art world, and worked at David Zwirner, Sotheby’s, White Cube, and most recently, Thaddaeus Ropac.
What I bring to HEKATE: Institutional and gallery relations, and overseeing an artist’s commercial development.
Strength: $$$ & contracts. I review and negotiate all contracts and manage studio finances.
When I’m not at HEKATE, I prioritise slow living.
Favourite artist(s) of all time: I can’t resist political installations, so Doris Salcedo, Mona Hatoum and El Anatsui. I can also never avoid mentioning Ana Mendieta, Man Ray, Marcel Duchamp and Hélio Oiticica.
We curate and manage our own projects too.
